Look at your marketing like it's your house.

It could always be bigger and better; how cool would a pool be? But...

You have a perfectly fine house. It shelters you, keeps you warm enough (just need to spend a bit more on heating in winter but re-insulating is much more expensive!), it's a familiar place, where you know where everything is, and the trick to that sticky cupboard door...

But the Joneses up the road, they've just renovated; their house is like yours, with a similar floor plan and now it's worth tens of thousands more than yours is (or hundreds of thousands if you're in a city like Auckland)! You're starting to realise that owning a property isn't just about being comfortable and warm enough or mowing the lawns and trimming the hedges every now and then. It's about increasing value. It's about maximising the benefits of all the energy you put in. It's about getting Return On Investment by plugging gaps and double glazing windows, increasing the fresh air and preventing rot.

Enough with the metaphor, you know what I'm saying.

Your marketing, sales and staff are all energy that you pump in to your business. A solid marketing strategy and flexible tactical plans tighten up the gaps through which all that energy escapes, saving on wasted or tangental efforts and focusing your business towards valuable marketing outputs that achieve better, long term results.

We all like a comfort zone, but in business, you can't afford to waste money on energy that effectively slips through the gaps. If you think that your business might need a marketing renovation, give me a call and we'll work out a way for you to out-do the Joneses.
